The Supreme Court has rejected a sexual harassment lawsuit filed by a woman who claims James Brown raped her nearly two decades ago. Jacque Hollander says in her lawsuit that Brown raped her at gunpoint in 1988 while she was his publicist.
Hollander had claimed she sued after she developed a thyroid condition that doctors said was caused by the stress of the assault.
She argued the statute of limitations should not apply because her condition wasn't diagnosed for 12 years. She was asking for 106million dollars in damages.
A federal judge dismissed the suit in 2005, saying Hollander waited too long to file. An appeals court agreed last year. The Supreme Court did not comment on their order.
