Lindsay Lohan is expected in court Wednesday afternoon to face felony theft charges involving a necklace reportedly stolen from a jewelry store in Venice.
Lohan is still on probation for a 2007 DUI case. The actress' attorney said Lohan didn't steal anything from the jewelry store.
"We vehemently deny these allegations and, if charges are filed, we will fight them in court, not in the press," said Lohan's attorney, Shawn Chapman Holley, in a statement released Saturday.
Officials said the incident happened on Jan. 22 at the Kamofie and Co. jewelry store. Prosecutors said Lohan took a $2,500 necklace without paying for it. Store employees called police and charges were filed.
The necklace was returned to the store before police even had a chance to confront Lohan with the charge.
A source close to Lohan told People Magazine that the necklace was borrowed, not stolen. The friend also said the actress is used to getting gifts and other items that are worth even more than the necklace.
