Already having lost her business to foreclosure, socialite and winemaker Patricia Kluge now faces losing the grand country estate where she once held lavish parties for prominent guests.
Bank of America filed a lawsuit in U.S. District Court in Charlottesville this month claiming Kluge defaulted on three loans worth nearly $23 million on Albemarle House, the 23,500-square-foot Georgian home and grounds.
Kluge got Albemarle House in her divorce from billionaire John Kluge. An auction at the home in June of furnishings, antiques and other items brought in $15.2 million. The house is on the market, listed at $24 million.
Kluge and her husband, William Moses, lost their Kluge Estate Winery after they defaulted on their loans.
